Gornsdorf \/ Ore Mountains, 09<\/strong> March<\/strong> 2021<\/strong> \u2013<\/strong> LWL-Sachsenkabel GmbH from Gornsdorf in the German Ore Mountains, one of the leading German manufacturers of fiber optic cabling systems, was acquired by the US-based Amphenol Corporation on 23 February 2021. The Saxon company now joins one of the largest providers of interconnect solutions in the world, including electrical, electronic, fiber optic and RF products. The new arrangement brings numerous cooperative opportunities and valuable synergies in the fiber optics sector, as well as an expansion of Sachsenkabel\u2019s own capabilities. In addition, Sachsenkabel expects to significantly expand its wide-ranging solution portfolio in the areas of telecommunications, broadband as well as data center, industrial and broadcast.<\/p>\n

The acquisition of Sachsenkabel was initiated by Amphenol Corporation in order to further expand its business share within fiber optics and to strengthen its presence in the European market. Sachsenkabel has 30 years of experience in successfully planning, developing, and producing future-oriented and customer-specific infrastructure solutions. The business expects new advantages by now having worldwide access to Amphenol\u2019s markets, customers and global supply chain.<\/p>\n

For existing customers and business partners, the acquisition does not result in any changes. The usual flexibility and customer care will continue. All familiar contact persons as well as the long-term company location and production site in Gornsdorf \/ Saxony remain unchanged.<\/p>\n
