French national Benoît Thooris is taking over as president of the nonprofit organization from Raquel Torres, who has held the position since 2024. At the annual general meeting on May 18, the Board of Directors of UniversalAutomation.Org was also re-elected. With Harry He (Kyland Group) and Brad Mozisek (Wood), two new industry executives are now represented on the board.

RUD Defence will be showcasing lifting means and system solutions for lifting, securing and moving defence equipment under the slogan “Ready when it matters” at the EUROSATORY in Paris from 15 to 19 June 2026. IDEEL Project: Manufacture of laser-dried anodes and LFP cathodes achieved first time in a roll-to-roll process

The IDEEL research project aims to introduce a laser drying process as a more climate-friendly and economical method for the volume production of lithium-ion batteries. Within this context, it has now been possible to produce laser-dried anodes and LFP cathodes in a roll-to-roll process for the first time. The innovative manufacturing process significantly reduces energy consumption in electrode production and at the same time enables the drying speed to be doubled.

SMM 2024: RUD presents marine, offshore and subsea lifting technology

Aalen, August 2024 – Marine, offshore and subsea lifting technology solutions – these are what RUD is going to focus on at SMM (3 to 6 September 2024 in Hamburg, Stand A1.321). The Aalen-based company is going to present its broad portfolio of DNV-certified lifting means for use on board ships, in ports, on offshore platforms and in shallow water and the deep sea. The products to be presented are all extremely robust and designed according to the highest quality requirements. Therefore, they meet the highest safety standards even when subjected to harsh environmental conditions and changes in the weather.

RUD presents the CCS-FASTLOX clickable clevis shackle

Aalen, September 2024 – Plugging instead of bolting: with the new CCS-FASTLOX, RUD is expanding its product portfolio to include a clevis shackle with a quick-release fastener that makes the attachment of loads considerably easier and faster. The highly robust shackle can be fitted without nut and cotter pin, saving up to 80% of assembly and dismantling time compared to conventional boltable shackles.

The Laserline company's presentation at the Laser World of Photonics 2022 focusses on technological innovation. Laserline Acquires Majority Stake in US Company WBC Photonics

By acquiring a 70 percent stake in Boston-based laser specialist WBC Photonics, Laserline is expanding its solution portfolio to include blue industrial diode lasers with particularly high beam quality. In addition to laser systems with CW output powers of currently up to 4 kW - currently the highest power level in the blue laser sector - the company now also offers lasers with very high focusability and beam qualities of 4 mm mrad and better.

The IDEEL research project, supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the Battery 2020 funding program, aims to launch a laser drying process for a more climate-friendly and economical series production of lithium-ion batteries. The results will be incorporated into the Fraunhofer Research Fab Battery Cells (Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle) in Münster, Germany, which will enable users from both industry and research to test and optimize the series production of new batteries.
