formnext 2025: Laserline Presents First 30 kW Zoom Optics

Laserline will be presenting innovative optics solutions for industrial laser cladding at formnext 2025. The focus will be on a newly developed 30 kW zoom optic for flexible cladding processes, a new specialized optic for wear and corrosion protection coatings on internal geometries, and blue high brightness lasers for the additive manufacturing of non-ferrous metal components using laser-based powder bed processes.

Alliance for standard-compliant load securing

Transporting earth-moving machinery to the job site by heavy goods vehicle is part of the routine in many building projects. However, questions of load securing are not always accorded the appropriate importance – lashing points in particular often provide grounds for criticism. A joint project of Goldhofer AG, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG and RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH u. Co. KG illustrates what a secure lashing solution should really look like. The construction and logistics company Max Wild GmbH is already using these vehicles.

Safely transport earth-moving equipment: Goldhofer, Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug, RUD and Max Wild advocate for the use of high-quality lashing points

Aalen, September 2025 – Better safety when transporting earth-moving equipment through standard-compliant lashing – this is the joint goal of vehicle manufacturers Goldhofer AG and Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG, sling and lashing equipment specialist RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH u. Co. KG, and construction and logistics company Max Wild GmbH. A model project, first presented at bauma 2025, demonstrated how this may be achieved and will continue to serve as an example in the future.

SMM 2024: RUD presents marine, offshore and subsea lifting technology

Aalen, August 2024 – Marine, offshore and subsea lifting technology solutions – these are what RUD is going to focus on at SMM (3 to 6 September 2024 in Hamburg, Stand A1.321). The Aalen-based company is going to present its broad portfolio of DNV-certified lifting means for use on board ships, in ports, on offshore platforms and in shallow water and the deep sea. The products to be presented are all extremely robust and designed according to the highest quality requirements. Therefore, they meet the highest safety standards even when subjected to harsh environmental conditions and changes in the weather.

RUD presents the CCS-FASTLOX clickable clevis shackle

Aalen, September 2024 – Plugging instead of bolting: with the new CCS-FASTLOX, RUD is expanding its product portfolio to include a clevis shackle with a quick-release fastener that makes the attachment of loads considerably easier and faster. The highly robust shackle can be fitted without nut and cotter pin, saving up to 80% of assembly and dismantling time compared to conventional boltable shackles.

Laser Drying Technology Takes Leap Forward: IDEEL Project Demonstrates Scalability for Efficient Battery Cell Production

Electrode drying in the roll-to-roll process (R2R) has so far been one of the most cost- and CO2-intensive manufacturing steps in the production of lithium-ion batteries. A laser-based R2R drying process developed as part of the IDEEL research cooperation could change this in the future. It combines conventional, oven-based convection drying with laser drying using high-power diode lasers and reduces the drying time by more than 60 percent while maintaining the same quality of results.
